Malaga Island History

with Alice Bean Andrenyak

Malaga Island is a 41-acre island at the mouth of the New Meadows River in Casco Bay. It was the site of an interracial community from 1860's - 1912, when residents were forcibly evicted. Learn about who used the island before the colony, about the colony, and post colony use. Take a virtual tour of the island.
