Beginning Ukulele - New!
with Drew Albert
Over the past several years the Ukulele has made a huge comeback. From chart topping singles such as “Riptide” and “Hey Soul Sister”, to classrooms and full blown ukulele orchestras, this instrument has so much to offer. Whether you have always wanted to learn an instrument or are looking for something new, the ukulele with its unique sound and convenient portability may be for you. This course will cover chords, strumming, fingerpicking, and personalized instruction of selected songs. It is recommended that you purchase “Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book 1” ($6.99 on Amazon) and that you bring your own soprano, concert, or tenor sized ukulele. If you do not have one Musician’s First Choice in Augusta has some affordable ones on hand. If you have any questions, email Maranacook Adult Ed or your Instructor Drew Albert at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Songs inspire hope, unite people, express feelings, create moods and challenge thinking. If you have ideas or stories you’d like to share, you'll enjoy this safe and fun opportunity to write your own songs. We'll review basic songwriting structure, learn about lyric development, explore creative writing and learn to hear and offer supportive feedback. Beginners and experienced songwriters can all benefit. The ability to read music, sing beautifully or play instruments is helpful but not required.
