Boys and Girls Soccer Camp Grades 3-8

Calendar Jul 9, 2018 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

For players with experience, advanced training on tactics and game situations will be provided. Each camper should have their own soccer ball, soccer cleats, sneakers, shin guards (required), labeled water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen. It is also strongly suggested that campers bring extra socks. Previous soccer experience is required.

Boys’ Black Bear Basketball Camp Grades 4-8

Calendar Jun 25, 2018 at 8 am, runs for 1 week

Campers learn the fundamental of defense including stance and positioning and develop individual offensive skills. Daily activities include individual help stations, lectures, games, and competitions. Each camper should bring a snack and labeled water bottle. Dress in athletic shorts, t-shirt or tank, and socks as well as basketball sneakers.

Coach Schmidt has been the boys’ varsity basketball coach at Maranacook HS for 16 years, leading teams to three KVAC and two state championships.

Instructors: Coach Rob Schmidt, various assistant coaches, and current MCHS players.

Dates: June 25-28, 2018

Time: 8 am - 12 pm

Lady Black Bears’ Basketball Camp Grades 4-8

This camp will focus on skill development in ball handling, shooting and defense through one on one instruction, along with group drills. Please bring snacks, clean sneakers and labeled water bottle.

Instructors: Coach Jeannine Paradis, Maranacook Girls’ Varsity coach and current MCHS players.

Dates: June 25-28, 2018

Time: 9 am-12:30 pm

Location: MCMS Gym

Lakers Track Club Boys & Girls Ages 6-15 (entering 9th grade and lower)

Calendar Jun 25, 2018 at 5 pm, runs for 7 weeks

Track is a wonderful opportunity to meet a lot of new people, get physically fit, and build character, all while having lots of fun. All that is required for practice is a pair of running shoes, athletic clothing, and a water bottle.

Instructors: Mark Dennett, Maranacook Varsity Track Coach (Mark has over 12 years coaching experience); also Current and Former Maranacook Community High School Track & Field Athletes 

Dates: June 25 - August 11, 2018

Mondays and Tuesdays, 5-6:30 pm

Track meets: Thursdays, 10 am (optional)

Registration: $55 (includes a T-Shirt)

 $2 entry fee for each track meet (optional)

Little Kickers Soccer Camp Ages 5-8

Campers experience the principle of one ball to one person and how it is used to develop ball control skills. Children will develop balance, coordination and gross motor development in cooperative play through a variety of drills, activities and game situations. Previous soccer experience is not necessary.

Please bring a labeled soccer ball, labeled water bottle; shin guards, soccer cleats/sneakers, short/sweats, t-shirt/tank top and sunscreen are all required. I

Calendar Mar 20, 2018 at 6:30 pm, runs for 6 weeks

Songs inspire hope, unite people, express feelings, create moods and challenge thinking. If you have ideas or stories you’d like to share, you'll enjoy this safe and fun opportunity to write your own songs. We'll review basic songwriting structure, learn about lyric development, explore creative writing and learn to hear and offer supportive feedback. Beginners and experienced songwriters can all benefit. The ability to read music, sing beautifully or play instruments is helpful but not required.

Martin performs 80+ gigs a year sharing award-winning original songs and a surprisingly eclectic mix of covers: Americana, swing & jazz, traditional, show tunes, klezmer, and improvisational music.
