Handling Aggression will address the 3 stages of conflict and conflict management. The situations presented are geared for real life engagements. Focus will be placed on strategies that deal with verbal disagreements as well as those situations that can escalate, and get physical. We will begin by focusing on verbal intimidation and how you can respond to someone who is trying to intimidate you or make you feel uncomfortable. We then cover scenarios that go beyond words, where “reasonable force” is needed in order to regain control of the situation. De-escalation strategies, avoidance techniques, & physical restraining exercises and controlling tactics. For adults 18 and over. No experience necessary.

Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause memory, thinking and behavior problems that interfere with daily living. The Alzheimer’s Association® developed the new 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s education program to help people recognize common signs of the disease and know what to watch for in themselves and others.

This program:

- Explores typical age-related changes.                                                  - Describes common signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia.                          - Offers tips for how to approach someone about memory concerns.         - Explains the importance of early detection and benefits of diagnosis.      - Details possible tests and assessments for the diagnostic process.          - Identifies helpful Alzheimer’s Association resources.

In this class you will find out what laws are most important to know about, what documents are most important for your protection, and what opportunities there are to preserve your estate for you and your family’s benefit. Subjects will include: home care, nursing home and residential care; government programs such as Medicare and MaineCare; long term care insurance; protecting the spouse at home; and preserving your home, camp and savings.

Campers experience the principle of one ball to one person and how it is used to develop ball control skills. Children will develop balance, coordination and gross motor skills through a variety of drills, activities and game situations. Previous soccer experience not necessary. Please bring a labeled soccer ball, labeled water bottle Shin guards, soccer cleats/sneakers, short/ sweats, t-shirt/tank top and sunscreen.

Tanya is a professional numerologist and provides private readings and consultations, and has written several published articles on the subject. Since 2002,Tanya has been certified in Hypnotherapy by the National Guild of Hypnotists, and became a certified hypnosis instructor with the Guild in 2009. She practices and teaches Usui Reiki, Violet Flame Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Gold Reiki, and Ethereal Reiki. All of Tanya’s classes are held at Maranacook Community High School.
