Participation in an All Terrain Vehicle education course will teach students how to properly operate and maintain an ATV. Laws, responsibilities and personal safety will also covered.

Students attending safety classes must be a minimum of 10 years old and students under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Students under 18 years of age must have an adult register them in person at the first class.
Basics of Outdoor Cooking
with Steve Vose
Nothing tastes quite as good as a meal cooked over the flames of an open fire. Topics will include how to make guide coffee (with an egg!), reflector oven dinner rolls, dutch oven baked beans and a surprise dessert sure to please!

Boys and Girls Soccer Camp Grades 3-8

For players with experience, advanced training on tactics and game situations will be provided. Each camper should have their own soccer ball, soccer cleats, sneakers, shin guards (required), labeled water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen. It is also strongly suggested that campers bring extra socks. Previous soccer experience is required.

Boys’ Black Bear Basketball Camp Grades 4-8
with Rob Schmidt
Campers learn the fundamental of defense including stance and positioning and develop individual offensive skills. Daily activities include individual help stations, lectures, games, and competitions. Each camper should bring a snack and labeled water bottle. Dress in athletic shorts, t-shirt or tank, and socks as well as basketball sneakers.
Coach Schmidt has been the boys’ varsity basketball coach at Maranacook HS for 16 years, leading teams to three KVAC and two state championships.
Instructors: Coach Rob Schmidt, various assistant coaches, and current MCHS players.

Edible and Medicinal Plant Walk

Some of our common weeds are not only nutritious foods but have wonderful healing properties. On this 2 hour walk through field and woods you will learn how to add vitamin and mineral rich wild plants to your diet, treat bee stings, heal wounds, aid digestion, treat UTI’s and protect yourself from cancer.

Lakers Track Club Boys & Girls Ages 6-15 (entering 9th grade and lower)

Track is a wonderful opportunity to meet a lot of new people, get physically fit, and build character, all while having lots of fun. All that is required for practice is a pair of running shoes, athletic clothing, and a water bottle.
Instructors: Mark Dennett, Maranacook Varsity Track Coach (Mark has over 12 years coaching experience); also Current and Former Maranacook Community High School Track & Field Athletes
