Ceramics: Beginning/ Intermediate

In this ten week course, you will explore the beauty of clay by learning to make coil pots, boxes, tiles and functional pottery. Students may personalize their approach to learning new wheel-thrown and hand building methods. Tools will be available during class. Students will be responsible for purchasing their own clay, approximately $25. Information about the clay required will be given at first class.

If you have a favorite old chair or ottoman, don’t discard it. Reupholster it! Under the direction of a skilled instructor, you will learn basic upholstery techniques and complete a small project during this 8 week class. Students purchase fabric on their own. Supply fee $15-$25, depending on your project, payable to instructor.

Water Colors for Beginners NEW!
with Linda Murray
This class is for the true beginner, but also open to those who have painted in Watercolor but need a little help improving their skills. Each week students will be introduced to an element of the landscape and then begin putting those elements together. They will learn watercolor techniques such as dry brushing, scraping and wet-into-wet applications. They will also be introduced to color theory. Classes will begin with a helpful critique and demonstration of a new technique. A required workbook is included in the class fee. Students are responsible for their own materials. A recommended materials list is available at registration.

Instructor Bio: Linda graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with honors holding a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art. She has participated in many juried shows, and won numerous art competitions. Linda's paintings are held in public and private collections throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. Welding Basics-NEW DATES!!

This class teaches professional welding skills and technology for those wishing to enter the welding profession or a technical college program. Hobbyists welcomed. No previous welding experience is required. Each class includes approximately 30 minutes of theory and safety training and 2 hours of hands-on welding. Safety glasses, welding gloves, and leather boots required. Book and supply fees are due at registration.

“Clammy Friends” Quilt NEW!
with Betsy Cannan
This colorful quilt finishes at 64" X 72", or whatever size you want. Can be made from your favorite scraps or a new color scheme of your choice. The skills you will learn are cutting and sewing, color and design development, working with solids and designs, using a template, and sewing curves using a glue stick, and binding.
