We will discuss the science behind using essential oils for cleaning, the safety guidelines and tips for cleaning

Come join us in hands-on class and take home some simple and delicious treats made with essential oils. You will learn how to determine what oils are safe to take internally and how to use them. You will have the opportunity to sample and take home a variety of treats including a vegetable/chip dip, cheese spread, and a sweet treat as well as the recipes so that you can make them at home.

Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine Workshops NEW!

David Greenham, associate director of the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine will present two HHRC programs: Decision Making in Times of Injustice and The Message Matters. Both programs use the story and history of the events leading up to the Nazi Holocaust to examine and consider the role of those who watched. This two evening program will also help participants to recognize and consider their role in the current divisiveness in America.

2 Wednesdays, 6:30-8 pm

Dates: March 13 & April 10, 2019

Registration: $15 (Proceeds from these workshops help support the Holocaust Center)

The course focus is on developing reading and writing skills. You will learn to identify and correct common writing errors, and learn helpful techniques to get your ideas down on paper. We will read short stories, a novel, opinion essays and non-fiction articles. The class will benefit students preparing for the HiSET or college and credit recovery students needing English credits for their high school diploma.

Handling Aggession

Calendar Mar 23, 2019 at 11 am, runs for 1 week

Handling Aggression will address the 3 stages of conflict and conflict management. The situations presented are geared for real life engagements. Focus will be placed on strategies that deal with verbal disagreements as well as those situations that can escalate, and get physical. We will begin by focusing on verbal intimidation and how you can respond to someone who is trying to intimidate you or make you feel uncomfortable. We then cover scenarios that go beyond words, where “reasonable force” is needed in order to regain control of the situation. De-escalation strategies, avoidance techniques, & physical restraining exercises and controlling tactics. For adults 18 and over. No experience necessary.

Beginner to intermediate hatha yoga class, for all levels of fitness. Lisa believes everyone can benefit from doing yoga. We will practice asanas (exercises), breathing and relaxation. Please bring a large towel or yoga mat to class.
