AARP Safe Drivers Course

This class, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation’s first and largest refresher course designed specifically for older drivers. For more than 30 years, these classroom and online courses have taught millions of drivers proven safety strategies so they can continue driving safely for as long as possible. This class provides research-based information to help you update your driving knowledge and skills. By participating in this class, you are taking advantage of an important opportunity to learn how to drive more safely and confidently. In fact, research shows that as a result of completing the course, most people make positive changes to their driving behaviors.

Becoming Your Own Travel Agent-NEW!

This class will provide resources and information for anyone who wants to find the best deals for hotels, cruises, RV travel, Airbnb, escorted tours and more. We will answer questions about RV driving to Alaska and the western US, how to get the lowest prices for escorted tours to almost anywhere, and getting great deals on hotels while traveling at home and abroad. Information will be presented on river cruises for less, as well as airfare tips. In addition, you will go home with valuable online resources.

Boys and Girls Soccer Camp-Grades 3-8

For players with experience, advanced training on tactics and game situations will be provided. Each camper should have their own soccer ball, soccer cleats, sneakers, shin guards (required), labeled water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen. It is also strongly suggested that campers bring extra socks. Previous soccer experience is required.

Boys' Black Bear Basketball Camp Grades 4-8
with Rob Schmidt
Campers learn the fundamental of defense including stance and positioning and develop individual offensive skills. Daily activities include individual help stations, lectures, games, and competitions. Each camper should bring a snack and labeled water bottle. Dress in athletic shorts, t-shirt or tank, and socks as well as basketball sneakers. Coach Schmidt has been the boy’s varsity basketball coach at Maranacook HS for 16 years leading teams to three KVAC and two state championships.
Instructors: Coach Rob Schmidt, various assistant coaches, and current MCHS players.

This high intensity aerobic workout will give you a great opportunity for aerobic exercise through guided routines building on four basic punches and four basic kicks. Some core strength building will also be included. All experience levels are welcome.

Ceramics: Beginning/Intermediate In this ten week course, you will explore the beauty of clay by learning to make coil pots, boxes, tiles and functional pottery. Students may personalize their approach to learning new wheel-thrown and hand-building methods. Tools will be available during class. Students will be responsible for purchasing their own clay, which will be available the first night of class for $13.75 per bag. Instructor: Jeremy Smith

This intermediate class continues instruction from Fall and Winter beginning classes.
Over the past several years the Ukulele has made a huge comeback. From chart topping singles such as “Riptide” and “Hey Soul Sister”, to classrooms and full blown ukulele orchestras, this instrument has so much to off er. Whether you have always wanted to learn an instrument or are looking for something new, the ukulele with its unique sound and convenient portability may be for you. This course will cover chords, strumming, fingerpicking, and personalized instruction of selected songs. It is recommended that you purchase “Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book 1” ($6.99 on Amazon) and that you bring your own soprano, concert, or tenor sized ukulele.
